1. 1. Unbox and inspect the pump: Remove the pump from its packaging. Check that the dip tube (the long plastic straw) is attached and straight. If it’s bent or detached, gently straighten or reattach it by pushing it onto the pump’s inlet. A bent dip tube can prevent the pump from reaching the bottom of the bottle, leaving product unused.
2. 2. Remove the original cap from the body wash bottle: Unscrew the cap from your 2.5L body wash bottle. Keep the cap in case you want to store the bottle without the pump later. Wipe the bottle’s neck clean if it’s sticky. A clean neck ensures a tight seal and prevents the pump from loosening during use.
3. 3. Screw the pump onto the bottle: Align the pump’s threading with the bottle neck and twist clockwise until it’s snug. Do not overtighten – hand-tight is enough to prevent leaks. The pump’s collar should sit flush against the bottle. Overtightening can crack the bottle neck or strip the threads, causing leaks.

If you won’t use the bottle for a long time, remove the pump, clean it, and replace the original cap. Storing the pump in direct sunlight or near heat can degrade the plastic and affect the pump’s performance.
